Style
Robert had a mission when taking his photos he often took them on subject that he felt were desperate for example he took a picture of a caged animal at the zoo as the animal sat there angry as they were caged up because he felt like how the animals did in the place of his own home and where he grew up. Robert had a variety styles he liked to use but one of the most he used was he liked taking photos of couples.

He was known for taking Raw and personally expressive photos, He also Used his photos to create a stronger impact and address larger ideas to hopefully one day be published in Life Or other magazines. He Often Visited New York to get photos of the people and culture there.
Influences
Robert Frank Has really showed me to really look at the potential of the picture and not to be so quick to snap a picture as i feel there is always a better picture to take, he also has showed me to really not be afraid to get the right angle or right people to make the picture just that much better. Robert Frank Himself was also inspired by jakob tuggeners film book he created that really pushed him to do photography

These Pictures were not easy to get because Robert Frank took these 50-75 years ago and it is rare to find a long open road like this with no cars long enough took get a picture, i did manage to get the best substitute which was this.

This picture was also hard to get because living in Ann Arbor I don't think there are any abandoned gas stations like the one you see above but was still cool to try and replicate.
|
The Last one you cant really see as well but we drove past and I had to have my phone out the window and I tried my best to take the most clear picture I could, this is MACI in jackson as I felt this was the closest resemblance to the photo above

Artist Statement
It was Not easy getting these pictures because I just live in a highly populated area, You also just don't see stuff like abandoned gas stations anymore. Other then that I had a lot of fun getting these pictures and trying out different techniques to try and get the most clear shot. The Images are not spot on but closest I can to getting them there.
